Pinwheels & Popcorn is an elementary fee-based summer enrichment program for students who are currently in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. The classes are designed to offer academic enrichment, artistic expression, as well as recreational activities. Certified instructors will be teaching hands-on activities across the curricular areas of science, math, language arts, and physical education. These areas are designed to meet the developmental abilities of each age. In addition, special speakers and field trips will enhance the daily activities. Students will experience new and exciting projects each day throughout the week, including a field trip, a water day, and a Pinwheels & Popcorn T-shirt!
This summer’s theme will be “Islands of Adventure”....we will embark on an amazing adventure of Island hopping starting in Japan, on to the Hawaiian Islands, then the Philippines, on to
Madagascar, followed by Australia, stopping by Morocco, as we cruise through the Caribbean, and beyond. Activities will include: Volcanoes within the Ring of Fire, Australian Boomerangs, Japanese Lanterns, Tiki Masks, Mysteries of the Japanese Fan, Sea Life Origami, Sea Salt Watercolor Turtles, Live Turtle Races, Tropical Fish, Tropical Flowers, Hawaiian Leis, Water Activities, and Dissecting a Shark! Our field trip will be to the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks!
