At the baseball-themed Bruins of the Year event on April 18, third grade teacher Maria Rau was honored as the Jane Phillips Elementary School Teacher of the Year. She was introduced by student Alice Crouse.
Second grade teacher Caroline Rojas was honored as the Jane Phillips Elementary School Rising Star Teacher.
Maria Olga Herrera was honored as the Classified Person of the Year for Jane Phillips Elementary.
Ms. Herrera went on to be named the District Classified Person of the Year!
A highlight of the evening was a standing ovation when Rita Coale of Jane Phillips Elementary received her pin for 50 years of district service.
