Toulouse Teacher Appreciation Award

Arvest Bank is pleased to announce Renee Toulouse has been awarded a $500 prize as part of its “We Love Teachers” campaign. A total of 154 awards, totaling $77,000, are being given this year throughout Arvest’s footprint.  Toulouse, who teaches Special Education at Jane Phillips Elementary School, plans to use her prize money for cross curricular lessons in Social Skills and Written Expression.  “These lessons will help my class with the pen-pal project we have taken on with another 5 th - grade class at Jane Phillips. We have adopted a 95-year-old grandma/pen-pal who lives in a local assisted living facility. Our life principal words for this project are compassion and commitment forever.”  “I want to thank Arvest Bank for recognizing the teaching profession and showing support,” said Toulouse.
The Arvest initiative to honor educators was launched on Sept. 13. Nominations were accepted via the Arvest Bank Facebook page. The nomination comment submitted for Ms. Toulouse said, “Ms. Toulouse always makes sure that each student knows that they are of value and of worth.”  “We are pleased to recognize Ms. Toulouse as part of the Arvest We Love Teachers campaign,”  Arvest Bank marketing manager Stevie Williams said. “Teachers need our support every day, and maybe now more than ever.
